The Clear Lake area is a widespread, active, community with endless opportunities to get out and have some fun. As a local, it’s sometimes hard to get out and do the “tourist” attractions that are out of your usual daily routine, but there are some amazing attractions that are offered right in our own backyard that we should most definitely be taking advantage of. Below are a list of some of the most popular activities in the area that will hopefully spark your inner tourist that you and your friends or family can take advantage of.

Murder by Chocolate

Description: An alternative to most dinner options in the area, the interactive mystery dinner theatre is a great way to mix things up whether you’re on a date or with the kids. This one of a kind experience goes above and beyond the idea of “dinner and a show” that gets guests intertwined in the inner workings of the production. A night at Murder by Chocolate includes entertainment such as mystery dinner, comedy magic, whodunnit theatre, outta time, painting to die for, and mini mystery.

Kemah Boardwalk

Location: 215 Kipp Ave. Kemah, TX 77565

Description: As one of the more popular activities in the Clear Lake area, the Kemah boardwalk offers something to do for everyone. The boardwalk includes rides, shopping, dining, and a boardwalk inn. Some of the rides include: Wonder Wheel, Double Deck Carousel, Jungle Bounce, and Boardwalk Tower. They have even expanded their activities to fit the fall atmosphere with their “Boo on the Boardwalk” events that include magic shows, costume contests, trick or treating, fun houses, and more. You’ll want to keep an eye on their Events Listing so you don’t miss out on the fun they have to offer.

Space Center Houston

Location: 1601 Nasa Pkwy. Houston, TX 77058

Description: If you are looking for endless hours of entertainment, the Space Center provides options for all facets of the imagination including a brand new fall exhibit which just opened October 1 and offers 26 immersive experiences in which visitors will investigate what it takes to be a space explorer. The space center also offers a tram tour, lunch with an astronaut, and a starship gallery. You can even see the real docking target from MIR which was assembled in space. If you’ve driven past this place a hundred times and never step foot in it, it’s time you do.

Clear Lake Park

Location: 5001 E NASA Pkwy, Seabrook, TX 77586

Description: This park is a popular site for fishing and recreation activities with more to offer than just the lake. Clear Lake Park is a 59 acre park located southeastern Harris County. It also has many amenities such as: baseball fields, tennis courts, gazebos, boat launch, playground, fishing, and picnic tables. It’s an excellent venue for family gatherings or just for a quiet get away.
